Why Would I Want to Buy a Domain Name?

Whether your website features a commercial product, your own handicrafts, hobbies, or avocations, there is nothing more frustrating than creating a site, spending hours upon hours trying to manipulate internet search engines into "finding" it, and then waiting week upon week to see your counter record one, two hits a day while you wait to be discovered.

Whatever the topic of your website, there are thousands of people online daily who want to view the very thing you feature. Frequently, these surfers find that sites they were accustomed to visiting are now defunct, broken links, basically. Some of these defunct websites can receive thousands of hits a month, because the domain name has been saved in browsers, or people are just in the habit of typing a certain domain name when they are searching for a particular thing.

How nice it would be if you could just convince some of these folks to surf on over to your site instead. You can use a previously-developed domain name to do just that. There are two options. If you find a name especially compelling, or if it is especially descriptive of what you are trying to do, you can buy a name and develop a website around the name. Easier still, you can simply redireect the natural traffic from a domain name you have acquired by means of domain forwarding to your existing site. Either way, you are up and running, with interested and motivated viewers arriving at your site immediately.
